La Paz

A beautiful day, low 20s to start and then steadily getting hotter. The port for La Paz is Pichilingue, about a 30 minute drive away. We did a La Paz highlights tour. First stop a historical mission church in the centre of town across from the zocalo. Then a handicraft co-op with local goods. Something I hadn't seen before were things made of cactus wood. Next stop was a restaurant to try local ceviche and fish tacos with a beer. Then to a family run pottery store. They showed us some of the process. There were some really beautiful pieces. Finally we had some free time to walk along the malecon, which stretches 5 km along the harbour with a bike path, many benches and statues.

By this time (about 1pm) it was getting very hot and we were glad to return to the boat. We headed for the pool area for a cold beer and a swim. I also practiced my Pickle ball serve. It's getting slightly better!

Then time for dinner, I had swordfish which was part of the local choices. Also a coconut rice pudding. Very good! The show was 4 male singers, 2 from Italy and 2 from the U.K. An enjoyable show. I decided on a earlyish night as I have an early start tomorrow.
